Job-Specific Responsibilities

The Center for Computational Biomedicine (CCB) provides computational, bioinformatics, and data science support for students, postdocs, research staff, and faculty across Harvard Medical School through education, project collaboration, and professional development initiatives. CCB has a strong educational mandate to provide courses and workshops for researchers to learn data analysis, technical computational skills, and the adoption of new methods (eg AI/ML, single-cell RNA-seq, etc). CCB’s scientists have a breadth of computational, bioinformatics, and data science expertise and they engage in projects with HMS researchers to support their analysis needs.

The scope of CCB projects includes four groups: Data & Analytics Platforms, Ontologies, Functional Genomics, and Image Analysis. CCB is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to organize project operations across our 4 working groups. A background in Computational Science, Bioinformatics, or Data Science is required for this position.

The CCB Project Manager (PM) will work directly with and report to the Center Administrator, helping to organize, launch, and manage project collaborations as well as CCB’s Education and Professional Development initiatives.

Responsibilities will include:                                                   -

  • Keeping project timelines,
  • Organizing meetings, keeping minutes, and managing and distributing meeting materials,
  • Organizing onboarding for new project collaborators,
  • Managing deliverables,
  • Managing data use permissions and application access,
  • Triaging inquiries from CCB’s website,
  • Website updates,
  • Reporting project progress to the Center Administrator,
  • Launch and manage surveys,
  • Organize seminars,
  • Manage course/workshop registration,
  • Launch and manage education and professional development initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of experience in computational science, bioinformatics, or relative field are required. A Bachelor’s degree may count towards experience.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

Background in computational science, data science, and/or bioinformatics strongly preferred
