Reporting to the Director of the Center for Computational Biomedicine (CCB) at Harvard Medical School (HMS), the Center Administrator is the senior administrative leader for program planning and development, governance, education, and management activities for the CCB. The Center Administrator provides general administrative direction and oversight for all activities of the CCB, including participating in planning and program development; ensuring compliance with governmental and institutional policy; developing and implementing educational modules, and developing and monitoring budgets. They will serve as a senior advisor for strategic planning and execution of research projects.
Scope of the Portfolio: The CCB manages multiple large and small software and analytic development projects. There is a strong educational component and many interactions with departments in HMS and across Harvard. The CCB develops shared data and analytic resources to serve a broad constituency. A background and interest in health science, particularly an advanced degree in biology or quantitative science, would be an asset.
Responsibilities: Program Planning and Development ~ 30% effort Participates in the development of a broad array of research strategic planning and programming. Creates and recommends governance models and operational structures; develops staffing models and job descriptions. Provides financial modeling. Reviews activities of various programs as required and identifies new or enhanced operating models; identifies opportunities for common or coordinated infrastructure.
Bachelor’s degree 7+ years of progressive University administration experience, preferably in higher education, hospital, or closely related setting.
Master’s degree or other related advanced degree preferred. An ability to communicate clearly and effectively. An ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment. Flexibility and willingness to take on new challenges.
