Biography

Sam earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Computation Data Science from George Mason University in 2020. She then went on to work in fintech as a Data Engineer before returning to academia in 2022, joining the Center for Computational Biomedicine’s Data and Analytics Platforms team as a Senior Software Engineer alongside Dr. Nathan Palmer. Her work has focused on data engineering, open source web scraping, machine learning and computer vision. The Data and Analytics Platforms team provides access to data resources comprising tens of billions of medical facts from tens of millions of patients to the research community at HMS, and develops both the technical and methodological solutions to perform novel analytics at scale.
